June 1 fishing

Karen finaly felt well enough to go fishing with me on the Owyhee. This is actually the first time she has fished since we moved here. We loaded up the quad on the trailer and drove over to the dropping off place. I park the truck at a ranch over there and we go on by quad. It is about a 4 mile ride to the area where I fish and it is down a rocky and steep canyon.

Karen rode for a while, then decided that she wanted to walk and take some flower pictures.
It has been raining for a week or so and the flowers are popping up all over the place. Actually it consists mostly of what every one else would call "drizzle", but for us it is a lot of moisture. Notice the little green spider on the Lily like plant.

The Catfish (Channel Cats) were biting pretty good. Most of the time we were catching doubles, and both of us generally were either getting a bite or reeling one in. I finally started cleaning fish and Karen kept me supplied. We ended up with a gallon zip lock bag of filets and decided that would do for one day. We had a fish fry for today and four more packages of filets for the winter food supply.

  1. Nice pictures. I wish i was there to see the flowers, smell the sage, and eat some catfish. Way to go on getting a Blog up and going. Pretty cool. I would also like to spend some time looking for agates in that canyon.
