Weaning Calves

Tami and Rosie were weaning calves and we volunteered to help with it. They had gathered cows and separated about a 100 weanlings from their mothers and were holding them in the pens. It had been storming all day and it looked as though it was going to be wet. We did have a little squall blow through, but the skies soon cleared.

The calves are moved through the corrals and into the squeeze chute where they are ear tagged with a  trackable tag, and inoculated.

The day went quite well, we didn't get too wet, and the calves moved through quickly and well. No one, dogs and calves included got hurt.
